Central Secretariat Service officials warn Union government of full strike from May 20 over delayed promotions

Civil servants of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) are going to go on strike due to the non-fulfillment of long pending issues and they have given the notice of non-cooperation to the secretary of the Personnel and Training Department at the northern block in Central Delhi.

These officials demanded an expedited decision on the promotion of officials which was delayed for six years. The notice says that aside from the DoPT, to which the CSS reports, all departments consistently issue promotion orders for all employees. In meetings held about this with DoP&T CS-I division officials, all were rigid and insisted that they would work in the slow, habitual, procedural way that would take years to update promotions. in CSS.

Officers said they would follow the slow and lackluster attitude of their cadre control authority (CCA). Officers also said they would not sit past 5:30 p.m. to complete the job and if the issues are not resolved by May 15, 2022, then the non-cooperation movement will result in an “indefinite strike throughout the Central Secretariat of May 20, 2022”.

The notice stated that CSS officers will wear black robes on a weekday as a sign of desperation and that they will report any actual staffing needs to their relevant administrator and forward full details to DoPT.
