Saudi Ports Authority adds two calls to Gulf of China service

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced the addition of two port calls, Shanghai and Singapore, to the Gulf China Service (GCS), a direct weekly service launched by Pacific International Lines (PIL) to link China with the Gulf in the Middle East. East.

This will help increase the capacity to support import and export operations in King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

As this addition aligns with the shipping companies’ goal to expand and add new shipping services, it will positively reflect on the efficiency of services provided to local and international importers and exporters.

The Authority provides effective direct services to customers to enhance the connectivity of Saudi ports with ports around the world.

Mawani attracts major shipping companies which help save traders time, in line with National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) goals and Saudi Vision 2030 goals to position the Kingdom as a global logistics hub.

King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam operates with a total area of ​​19 km2, with 43 fully equipped integrated berths to accommodate larger vessels, as well as 3 advanced container terminals with a capacity of 105 million tons.

The port managed to handle 32,553,570 tonnes of cargo, while container volumes reached a total of 1,780,350 TEUs in 2021.
