ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Interested in working with public transport? Now is your chance to step in the door.
The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (TheRide) is looking to add three new full-time members to its service team.
Applications will be accepted until January 19. Qualified candidates will then receive telephone interviews.
Here’s what the job posting says:
Members of TheRide service team support the organization of public transport in a variety of tasks, including daily refueling and maintenance of AAATA vehicles, emptying fare boxes, checking fluids, recording information on vehicles, vehicle washing and cleaning of debris from storage areas.
New members of the service team will work afternoons between 4:00 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. and weekends, depending on the job posting.
During their training, members will be paid $ 17.74 per hour. After training, members will receive an hourly wage of $ 21.29, which will increase to $ 24.60 after one year of employment.
Those interested in applying must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, have a high school diploma or have a GED and some experience and mechanical abilities with coaches or other automotive equipment.
